Shard Rules

Please follow the rules below to ensure a fun and fair experience for everyone on Distantland UO.

Bug Exploiting

Do not exploit bugs! Report bugs to a GM immediately, and you might be rewarded for reporting unknown bugs. If you are caught exploiting, you will face consequences such as item loss or jailing.

Looting

If you die to a monster or player, your corpse becomes free to loot. No looting is allowed in tournament or newbie areas.

Paging GMs

Do not repeatedly page GMs or use profanity in pages. GMs will not assist with resurrection, taxis, stats, or items, and will only teleport you if stuck.

Complaining

No whining or insults toward GMs. If you feel wronged, email an admin instead. Complaints like "this quest sucks" will lead to jailing.

Dying and Renaming

GMs will not dye or rename items or characters. Unique items must be earned through quests or found in-game.

Item Replacement

Items will not be replaced, except under rare circumstances where an admin deems it necessary.

Stats and Skills

GMs will not replace stats or skills. If you experience loss, email an admin, and they will check logs and restore them if warranted. False reports will result in a permanent ban.

Macroing

Macroing is allowed but not near high-traffic buildings or areas with many people.

Player Killing

Player killing is allowed, but it is advised to attack players who can defend themselves. Attacking newbies is discouraged.

Stealing

If your items are stolen, it is part of the game. Do not page GMs crying about stolen items. Persisting will lead to warnings or jailing.

Harassment

Harassment is not tolerated. Creative insults are acceptable, but crude or profane language will lead to action. If harassed, page a GM with proof.

Spamming

Spamming is disliked and will lead to punishment.

Houses

Houses are not 100% safe. Important items should be stored in the bank. Items lost in house looting will not be replaced.

Keys

GMs will not make your keys "newbie." Keep them safe in your bank.

Punishment

Offenses will be punished accordingly. Repeated minor offenses will be treated as major ones. Punishments can range from warnings to permanent bans.
